28 Dec Getting Back to Nature
Time in natural environments is critical to our health and well being. That’s why Jack and Jill preschool in Gibsons wanted to create a stimulating and accessible outdoor environment for its students. With a grant from the Sunshine Coast Foundation, the school’s outdoor space was transformed into multi-purpose areas that include natural play spaces, a water barrel, a sound wall, accessible pathways, planting areas, and nature-based hiding spots.
“The playground is now more inviting and exciting for our community of learners,” says teacher Ann Law. “It has more multi-purpose areas and can accommodate different nature-based programs.”
