Community Legacy funds evolve with the ever-changing needs of our community and are a primary funding source for our annual grants program that supports local charities. These funds allow us to provide grants to the widest possible range of initiatives, including poverty reduction, arts & culture, food security, housing, healthcare, education, seniors, climate & conservation, youth, support of marginalized groups, and so much more.

Coast Recital Society to help bring world class musicians to the Sunshine Coast, funded in part by the Government of Canada.
Coast-wide Food Banks Fund to support all four food banks on the Sunshine Coast.
Daniel Kingsbury Music For Youth Endowment (Sunshine Coast Community Services) provides at risk youth on the Sunshine Coast with the opportunity to pursue various musical endeavors, such as taking music lessons, making and/or recording music.
Ed and Gwen Hawkins Habitat for Humanity Sunshine Coast Endowment to support the activities of the organization.
Gibsons Public Art Gallery Endowment Fund to support the Gallery’s operations.
Gwen Bennett Endowment to support the Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts, funded in part by the Government of Canada.
Habitat for Humanity Sunshine Coast Endowment to provide support to families living in the Wilson Creek complex.
Iris Loewen Endowment was established upon the retirement of Chief Librarian Iris Loewen in May 2009 to celebrate her many accomplishments in service to the Sechelt Library. This fund provides long-term, stable and sustainable support for the activities of the library.
Joop & Jessie Burgerjon Endowment for Sargeant Bay Society to provide stable funding for ongoing activities of the Sargeant Bay Society to support the protection of the natural habitat of Sargeant Bay, its watershed, and neighbouring wetlands.
Marine Rescue Agency Fund to help finance operations of Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue stations on the Sunshine Coast.
Moyna Krusell Memorial Endowment Fund to support activities and programs of the Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts.
Pender Harbour & District Health Centre Endowment to support the programs and operations of the Pender Harbour and District Health Centre.
Pender Harbour Music Society Endowment to enhance music, music education, and culture on the Sunshine Coast, particularly in Pender Harbour and Area A of the Sunshine Coast Regional District.
Pender Harbour Music Society Programming Fund to support the music, music education, and cultural programming of the PHMS. The fund was set up such that the initial contribution will be fully distributed within 10 years.
Robert Allen Memorial Endowment to support the programs and operations of the Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue Association.
Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre Endowment Fund to support the activities of the Centre, securing its financial future and continuing vital support for seniors in the community.
SC Arts Council’s Doris Crowston Endowment to support operations and programs at the Gallery.
SC Arts Council’s Endowment in Honour of Anne and Phillip Klein to encourage artists to continue their artistic passion late in life.
SC Arts Council’s Endowment in Honour of Gillian Lowndes to support an annual award in Gillian’s memory.
SC Arts Council’s Music Award in Honour of Louise Baril to fund an annual award which honours the memory of Louise Baril.
SC Art Council’s Endowment in Honour of Frances Wasserlein funds an annual grant in memory of a much loved woman by her friends.
SC Botanical Garden Society Endowment to support the programs and operations of the Garden.
SC Community Services Society Fund to support operations and programs in social services.
SC Conservation Association Endowment to support the programs and operations of the SCCA.
SC Festival of the Written Arts Legacy of Literacy Fund to support the annual Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts, funded in part by the Government of Canada.
SC Hospice Society Endowment to support its programs and operations.
YMCA Camp Elphinstone Youth Development Fund to support youth leadership and skill-building opportunities specifically at YMCA Camp Elphinstone. This fund was created through a generous gift from the estate of Mary Gordon.

Elaine Sanders Scholarship Fund for Nursing to support student(s) enrolled in a post-secondary institution or learning organization to pursue education in the field of nursing.

Larry Ennis Scholarship in Woodworking to support graduating high school students in School District 46 to pursue study or training in fine woodworking or carpentry.
Mary and Cecil Gordon/James and Phyllis Parker Family Scholarship Fund for Nursing and Caregiving awards scholarships to high school graduates or mature students residing on the lower Sunshine Coast who intend to pursue higher education in practical nursing, nursing care aids, personal support worker or other related areas and programs.
Patrina Thomson Memorial for Music and Dance to provide scholarships, bursaries or student awards to Sunshine Coast individuals pursuing post-secondary education in the fields of music and/or dance and who demonstrate exceptional talent and passion for their craft.
Robertson/McDonald Family Education Endowment to provide bursaries and scholarships to graduates from School District 46 attending post-secondary educational institutions.
Sunshine Coast Endowment for Visual Arts to support graduating high school students in School District 46 pursuing studies in the visual arts.
Talia Sweet Memorial Scholarship to support graduating high school students in School District #46 pursuing studies in social services or communications.
The Women in STEM Bursary Fund to provide bursaries to School District 46 to award to one or more graduating female students to support their post-secondary education or apprenticeship in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).
SCF Operations Fund supports the operations of the Sunshine Coast Foundation.
Sunshine Coast Charities to facilitate gifts to charities on the Sunshine Coast.
Sunshine Coast Regional District Capital Fund to support capital projects in the SCRD.
Town of Gibsons Capital Projects Fund to support capital projects in the Town of Gibsons.

Sunshine Coast Foundation is authorized by the Canada Revenue Agency to issue charitable receipts for income tax purposes for gifts of cash, cheques and securities, during the donor’s lifetime or later by bequest in a Will.
