This fund is the heart of the Sunshine Coast Foundation. Built by both small and large contributions, it is designed to have maximum flexibility in order to respond to changing community needs. Grants from this fund are awarded in response to applications accepted each spring from local charities. Fields of interest considered in this fund include: Arts, Culture, and Heritage; Education; Environment; Health, Wellness, and Safety; Social Development; and Sport and Recreation.
These funds allow donors to specify a cause or field of interest to which the Foundation is to direct the earnings annually. These may include the following areas: Arts, Culture, and Heritage; Education; Environment; Health, Wellness, and Safety; Social Development; and Sport and Recreation and could include other fields of interest approved by the Foundation (for example, Animals).
These funds allow donors to support graduating high school students on the Sunshine Coast.
A local charitable organization may create a permanent fund as a way to build a sustainable stream of income that can be used to support their operations and programs.
These funds gives donors the opportunity to participate in the grant-making process. Each year the Foundation will seek their advice as to which local charity should receive a grant from their fund.
A donor may wish to establish a permanent endowment to help pay for the operations of the Sunshine Coast Foundation or contribute to our existing operating fund. A contribution (large or small) ensures the Sunshine Coast Foundation can meet the growing needs of our community.
These funds provide the opportunity for a donor to designate that both the original gift and the earnings be paid out, perhaps within a certain period of time, rather than being permanently invested.
