Tim Howard

Director

(xwesam/Roberts Creek) Tim joined the Sunshine Coast Foundation Board in 2025, bringing with him a deep-rooted commitment to community well-being and resilience. A Roberts Creek resident for the past 15 years, Tim is actively involved in local life—serving as Chair of the Roberts Creek PAC, a Director with Deer Crossing the Art Farm and Transportation Choices Sunshine Coast, and as supervising lawyer for the SCRC Poverty Law Advocate.

With more than 30 years of legal experience, Tim’s career has centered on justice and public service. He spent seven years as an environmental litigation lawyer with Ecojustice Canada and 23 years practicing Aboriginal law in partnership with First Nations across British Columbia, Alberta, and the Northwest Territories. His work has been guided by a strong belief in fairness, sustainability, and the power of community-led solutions.

Outside the office, Tim is most at home in nature. He’s an avid mountain biker, backcountry skier, hiker, and rock climber—and, in case you’re wondering, yes, he also loves ecstatic dance.

To Tim, community is the fabric of people and place that enables his family—and others—to flourish in connection. Inspired early on by grassroots activists from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, he believes leadership begins with listening and compassion. He’s honoured to serve the Foundation and help build a stronger, more connected Sunshine Coast for all.
