Building Awareness
For over 20 years, the Sunshine Coast Foundation has aimed to inspire and strengthen community on the Sunshine Coast. We are dedicated to making a positive and enduring contribution to the quality of life on the Sunshine Coast, and this contest is a fun way to introduce more people to who we are and what we do.

Bringing People Together
We want to reach out to every corner of our community, bringing together people of all ages, backgrounds, and interests. The Coasties Contest is a perfect way to unite us around something we can all get excited about – giving back and Taylor Swift! Our community thrives when we come together to address our collective needs. This Coasties Contest is a celebration of our shared goals and aspirations, with Taylor Swift as the perfect symbol of unity and togetherness. (We see you, Swifties!)

Sparking Important Conversations
We believe in the power of dialogue. This contest is designed to inspire discussions about our values, dreams, and the role we all play in shaping our community’s future. We envision families and friends coming together to discuss what community means to them, what or who is part of their micro-communities, and how they personally want to support these networks on the Sunshine Coast so they will continue to thrive.

Understanding Our Community
Every entry in the Coasties Contest helps us learn more about the place and people we serve. It will provide us with a glimpse (that we can share) about what your unique community looks like and what’s important to you and/or your family. This knowledge is invaluable as we continue to work towards being the best community foundation we can be.

We are proud to deliver Vital Signs to our community as one way of providing meaningful and timely data and information about the strengths and challenges in our community. It provides insight into where our community would benefit from extra capacity or resources. While Vital signs is largely data driven, we think the Coasties Contest will provide more qualitative insights into our community and what’s important to our residents.

Planting the Seed of Philanthropy
We’re passionate about nurturing the next generation of philanthropists and community stewards. By participating in the Coasties Contest, you’re helping plant the seed of giving and caring in the hearts of our youth and future leaders. As you prepare your Contest submission, take this moment to engage in meaningful conversations with them about what giving back truly means. Remember: philanthropy isn’t always about monetary contributions.
