26 Jan Grants available for aspiring young musicians
Applications for this year’s Daniel Kingsbury Music for Youth Endowment Grant (DKMFY) are now being accepted.
The grant is open to Sunshine Coast youth ages 13 to 19 (age 19 as of December 31, 2026) who are looking for financial assistance up to $500 for opportunities such as music lessons, musical instruments, software, and/or electronic production (e.g., studio time or studio mentoring).
→ Deadline to apply is 4pm Friday, February 27, 2026.
The application may be completed by a youth OR by a nominator who, with the consent of the youth, would like to recommend and represent them. (Those who applied in the past may apply again.)
This grant specifically prioritizes applicants without the financial means to pursue their music-related goals. Please pass this on to others who may find this of interest.
Applications can be found on the Coast Cultural Alliance website (coastculture.com), via the @scyouthoutreach bio, send an email to dkmusicforyouth@gmail.com, or see below for application downloads.
The financial and emotional boost this award has made to past recipients has been significant and we are excited to share this opportunity once again!
These grants are made possible through generous donations made to the Daniel Kingsbury Music for Youth Endowment, which is proudly stewarded by the Sunshine Coast Foundation.
If you wish to make a contribution, you may do so directly through the Foundation. We will issue charitable tax receipts for all donations received.
