28 Dec Remembering Larry Ennis
Wendy Bone knew she wanted to do something special to preserve the memory of her late husband, Larry Ennis. Having grown up in Gibsons, his early days were spent working in construction and as a building contractor. Later he served as an operator for Sunshine Coast Transit. Larry was a past member of the Gibsons Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his passion for woodworking, he was a great fisherman, mariner, and gardener. After retirement, Larry enjoyed working around the property he shared with Wendy. He became an excellent carpenter and woodworker.
Larry Ennis passed away in July of 2018. “I don’t want Larry to be forgotten and I thought that creating a scholarship in his name is a great way to keep his memory alive,” Wendy says. With a generous donation that forms the capital in the endowment, the Foundation will be able to provide a meaningful scholarship annually to a graduating student pursuing studies in fine woodworking or carpentry.
