27 Feb Three cheers for twenty years! Sunshine Coast Foundation celebrates milestone 20th Anniversary.

Today – February 27, 2023 – is a very special day for us.

It marks the 20^th anniversary of our official incorporation.

What started as an exploratory idea among a handful of community members in the spring of 2002, the Sunshine Coast Foundation has blossomed into a full-fledged community foundation. Today, we are a mighty team of 3 permanent staff, plus a dedicated group of 15+ volunteers who serve as Board members, Advisors and Committee members.

From the start, our mission was clear: To establish a stable and sustainable pool of funds for charitable giving that will respond to the needs of our coastal community, from Port Mellon to Egmont. By connecting a caring community with causes that make a difference, our hope was to make a positive and long-lasting contribution to the quality of life on the Sunshine Coast, and it’s what continues to push us forward today.

Since establishing our very first endowment in 2004, the Foundation now stewards over 65 permanently invested funds, and we have distributed more than $2-million dollars to local charitable organizations over the last two decades.

As we reflect on the last 20 years, and look ahead toward the next 20 and beyond, we must recognize our wonderful community of supporters, both old and new. From our generous donors and sponsors to the individuals and groups who work tirelessly to promote a healthy and vibrant community for all, we say: Thank You. We are all in this together, and we celebrate this milestone with you!
