(ch’atlich/Sechelt) Emily is a seasoned communications professional with a diverse background spanning copywriting, social media management, corporate communications, investor and media relations. Originally from Ontario, she holds a master’s degree in media studies from Western University and is fluent in French.

Emily began her communications career at CTV, Canada’s largest private broadcaster, expanding her expertise in corporate affairs, public relations, and corporate social responsibility. During her decade living abroad in South Africa, Emily worked at a boutique PR firm before joining global advertising agency DDB, where she further honed her skills in strategic communications and brand storytelling.

Emily made a move from Johannesburg to Sechelt in 2021, and she joined for the Foundation as the Communications & Grants Administrator in September 2022. She feels incredibly privileged to live, work, and play on the Sunshine Coast, and takes great pride in championing the Foundation’s vision of a healthy and vibrant community where everyone belongs.

A movie fanatic, dog-lover, and proud mother of one, Emily volunteers for the Sechelt Community School’s Breakfast Program at Kinnikinnick Elementary School, and enjoys traveling whenever possible, embracing new experiences and perspectives along the way.
